Kalles Awarded School of Distinction for the 3rd Year in a Row!

Kalles Junior High School has been recognized, once again, as a “School of Distinction” for being among the top 5 percent of schools statewide that have demonstrated sustained academic achievement in reading and math. Kalles was one of only 3 junior highs statewide to be honored for a third consecutive year. Performance criteria used to select the winning schools is the same as has been used the past five years by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction to name Schools of Distinction. Each school had to have scored at or above the state average in math and reading in grades four, seven, or 10 on the 2011 on the Measurement of Student Progress (MSP). Schools that met that requirement were then evaluated for academic gains in both subjects as measured by seven years of WASL/MSP test scores.
