Latino Telephone Message SystemThe Puyallup School District has set up a Latino telephone message line to help Spanish-speaking families with questions about topics ranging from grading and school registration to attendance boundaries and district policies.
The message line, offered through the district’s Office of Diversity Affairs, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week from August 1 through June 30 at (253) 604-3300.
Rogers High School Spanish teacher Ramon Schussler-Paz will monitor the messages and call back families with answers to their questions.

El Distrito Escolar de Puyallup ha puesto en marcha una línea telefónica para las familias latinas que hablan español. Allí pueden dejar mensajes con preguntas sobre cualquier tema. Por ejemplo, preguntas sobre la matricula o registración, calificaciones, la escuela que le corresponde a su familia, las polizas del districto, etc.
La línea de mensajes es ofrecida a través de la Oficina de
Asuntos de Diversidad del Distrito y está abierta 24 horas del día, siete días a la semana del 1 de agosto al 30 de junio. Haga sus llamadas al número (253) 604-3300.

Tea Tuesday: Time for 9th graders to work on classwork while enjoying a cup of tea or treat. Tuesdays in Room 108 from 2:30-3:30pm. Students will need to make transportation arrangements home.
Cougar Club: Available to all students to work on their classwork in the LRC from 2:30-4:45pm. Students may take the activity bus home.
Math Tutoring: Math tutoring is availalbe to 8th and 9th grade students on Wednesday mornings in Room 108 from 8:30-9:30am.
Fast StartGranting High School Credit to 7th and 8th Grade Students
(Fast Start Program)
A student who has completed high school (grades 9-12) courses while in 7th and 8th grade shall be given high school credit which shall be applied to fulfilling graduation requirements if:
A. The course was taken with high school (grades 9-12) students, or course name, content, and rigor that has been designated by policy as a high school course, and
B. The student successfully passed the course by completing the same course requirements and examinations as high school students.

Daily AnnouncementsAttention 8th graders running for an ASB office. You should have received a note in your 6th period class yesterday letting you know if you are eligible to run or not. If you did not receive one, please check with your 6th period teacher and then see Mrs. Loran Nichols. If you are eligible to run, we will be meeting in the LRC this Friday at 7:10am for a campaign workshop.
Congratulations to Leigh Richardson for taking 3rd place in 2-D work at the Karshner Museum Vesey show yesterday!
Tonight is the night! The curtain will open and the stage will come alive with the art from over 100 of Ferrucci’s fine artists. If you like cookies, music and art you must attend tonight between 6-8pm. There will be performances on stage tonight that you will not be able to see tomorrow. Also you will have a chance to win a painting! Let’s pack the stage! Come be a part of the art!
The Hypokritz improve and sketch comedy show is going to be this Thursday at 7pm in the ERHS auditorium. The cost is $5 and all proceeds will go the the Hypokrtz Scholarship for the Arts.
Athletics
Attention all 8th and 9th grade girls interested in swimming or diving for ERHS in the fall! There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, May 29th at 6pm in the ER Commons. This meeting is for both new and returning members. See you then!
PHS Vikings girls soccer preseason meeting at 3:00pm on May 30th at PHS in Room 303.
Attention all students interested in participating in spring football at ERHS. There sill be an important informational meeting at ER in the Savannah area regarding spring ball, WSU camp, summer workouts, booster club and the South Hill Jags Youth Football Organization. Please make sure you can attend and/or your parent can attend this meeting. The meeting is May 17th beginning at 7:00pm. Go to www.jagnation.org for more information.
Online Grades!Home Access Center (HAC) is our on-line tool available to all families to be ablet monitor your students daily progress. Classwork, attendance, discipline and report card information is available to you. If you haven't already done so, you will need to register with the system first. In order to do this, you must know the e-mail address you have on file with the school.
