3………..2…………1………….Beeeeeeeeeeep!!!! Yep, you guessed it, the boys basketball season is finally underway as the Varsity Bruins hosted the Kalles Tyees in their home opener last night. It was a heated battle, up and down the court the entire game. The Bruins had control all game long, only to let the lead slip at the last second and have the game go into overtime. In overtime, Juwan Lockett took over and helped lead his team to victory, 58 to 57. Besides Juwan’s amazing game, CJ “I played the entire 36 minutes” Urps anchored the Bruins defense with his tenacious effort. CJ also had many clutch drives to the basket that resulted in points. Other great efforts were turned in by Tyson Kerr who used his patented head fake multiple times to help keep the kalles defenders on their heels. It was a great start to the season. Great job boys!
