Dear Parents and Students, If you would like to practice the online MSP state testing at home, a directions sheet is attached. You can have access to testing demos and tutorials for all of our 7th and 8th grade online tests. Booster Club Update

Next meeting Monday May 7th, 6:00pm in the library
We will be electing and installing the new officers for next year

The Booster club has provided funds for Mrs. Schiedt's class to go on a field trip to Northwest Trek in May.
We have also purchased a cash register for her classroom to help them learn about money.

The Booster club will be providing cake and punch for the 9th gr. awards assembly on June 19th.

The following is a list of basic supplies needed at junior high school. Individual classes, such as language arts or math, might have additional supply requirements.

A 2-inch, 3-ring binder
Notebook paper
Notebook section dividers

Blue or black ink pens
A colored pencil set
A pencil pouch
A 6-inch ruler
Gummed, paper hole reinforcers
An 8.5x11-inch spiral notebook
Graph paper
Fitness uniform: T-shirt, shorts, socks, and tennis shoes. The T-shirts and shorts may be purchased at Aylen.
A glue stick
A pink eraser

Please note that all teachers are listed but several are not active accounts. If you select a teacher and you go to their site and nothing is listed, then the site is not active.

PICKING UP/DROPPING OFF STUDENTS
Parents using the front parking lot and driveway are reminded that Emergency Vehicle Only Zones are just that....emergency vehicle only zones. They are not temporary stopping zones while awaiting students. The fine, should you be unfortunate enough to receive a ticket from the police is $50.00 and your car could be towed. Please stay out of the emergency vehicle only zones.

Volunteers Needed
Aylen needs many volunteers during the school year. Please stop by the Volunteer Booth during Back-To-School Night. Pick up a Volunteer Application and sign up for the area(s) in which you would like to help.

Happy Feet: Safe Steps to School

Students are reminded to exercise safety when walking or riding bicycles to school, especially during fall and winter months when rain and cold weather call for extra precautions.

A list of safety tips for walkers and bicycle riders are on the school district Web site at www.puyallup.k12.wa.us. On the Home page, click the Happy Feet: Safe Steps to School box. Parents are advised to review these safety tips with children.

Motorists throughout the community are also encouraged to drive safely, slow down in school zones, and be aware there are greater numbers of children walking to and from school this year.

Please remind your child to cross railroad tracks only at designated areas for their safety.

Home Access Center

Parents and guardians of children attending Aylen Junior High are able to view their student's report cards, attendance reports, and other school records using the district's new Home Access Center (HAC) Web program. Parents and guardians can also send and receive e-mail messages with teachers.

Parents and guardians may set up accounts and start using Home Access Center. For more information on setting up your account, please click on Parent Information

Help your child keep on reading during the summer! Check out the list of book and website recommendations on the Aylen Library link, click on "Documents." Also, don't forget that the Puyallup Public Library and the Pierce County Library System have many activities planned for students of all ages this summer.
